DESCRIPTION: The Production Assistant works in coordination with the Shop Manager and the Executive Chef to ensure quantity and quality control of all food-related materials. Reports directly to Executive Chef.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains up-to-date inventory of all food and food-related supplies;

  • Monitors quantity and functionality of culinary tools and equipment;

  • Creates and place food orders based upon class requisitions against inventory;

  • Receives orders and verifies accuracy and quality of product;

  • Oversees quality control on food-related and food storage items;

  • Tracks temperature logs and shelf stock tags;

  • Compiles paperwork for all associated purchasing activities and invoices;

  • Builds ingredient bins for cooking classes;

  • Facilitate class set up for assistants;

  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of production work spaces.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • ServSafe Certification;

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;

  • Superior organizational skills;

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to execute tasks with high level of accuracy;

  • Ability to learn quickly and pick up new skills;

  • Ability to problem solve;

  • Exhibit strong initiative and ability to work independently.


Optional but Preferred: 

  • Previous restaurant purchasing preferred.
